Hello and welcome!
If you have read or are thinking of reading my Colorado Trilogy, I thank you most sincerely. My hope is that you will find all three of these books both entertaining and inspiring!
A few years ago I was given the wondrous opportunity to write down some of the stories that had been rambling around in my imagination. Growing up in the shadow of Pike’s Peak, the beautiful Rocky Mountains were naturally the perfect setting for my adventures. Having also grown up on a horse ranch, spending my days in the saddle or cleaning barns or mending fence, historical, western romance also seemed like a good fit!
This Colorado Trilogy is a tribute the all our pioneer ancestors. My great-great grand father began ranching in the mountains in 1861. Every generation thereafter made their living in the saddle. Whenever possible I strive to enhance my Romantic Westerns with the true-life experiences of five generations of ranch life and my great love and respect for all pioneers.
There have been many blessings in my life. A wonderful husband, son, daughter-in-law and more recently, two precious grandsons. However, the most wonderful blessing of my life was when I asked Jesus Christ into my life at age eighteen. God is not a crutch for the weak. He has been my light in the darkness, my constant and very present help in times of trouble.
The more time I spend writing, the more I feel like a secretary taking dictation. As the third book in the trilogy was taking shape…I marveled at how all the characters from the first two book were blending together so seamlessly. I marveled because I had so little to do with it! To God be the glory, great things HE has done! It felt as if I were peering over the shoulder of the Master Weaver, as HE wove together every colorful thread to form the final tapestry. I hope you will come to enjoy the characters in these books as much as I have. They have become family to me and as I move onto my next series…I will miss them. Like you and me, they’re a complicated bunch. They struggle daily with good and evil while they ask the difficult questions that trouble us all. Like, why do bad things happen under the loving eye of an all seeing God? In the midst of their struggles, they will learn what I have over the years. That even in the most difficult of times, God does care! Even when the world seems like it is falling apart, I can assure you that, He is still in the business of healing the broken hearted and binding up our wounds. My prayer is that as you read these novels that you will come away feeling encouraged and blessed!
So far my stories have been set in the majestic Rockies. The mountains will always be special to me, I tend to think of them as dear childhood friends. However…I married a Texan! So, I live with my handsome husband of 45 years, in the rolling hills of rural Texas and I love it here. Still, the high country will most likely continue to influence my stories, even as I continue to rely upon God to give them a higher and deeper meaning.
I hope you will enjoy my Colorado Trilogy. I am working hard on my next series of books and hope you’ll want to read them too! My goal is to yield to God’s direction as He weaves His word into the stories He wants me to share. If these books entertain you, that’s wonderful. If they encourage you and keep you looking up, that’s even better!
